U.S. Army Soldiers from the 130th Engineer Brigade and 8th Military Police Brigade train the Papua New Guinea Defense Forces on room clearing, platoon level cordon and search, and tactical combat casualty care during Tamiok Strike 22 in Port Moresby on March 24. The training prepared the PNG Defense force for future scenario based practical exercises. Combined military readiness and responsiveness requires combined training. Tamiok Strike 2022 allows our nations to come together to test bilateral concepts in support of the Mutual Defense Treaty. Tamiok Strike 22 is a bilateral Army to Army military exercise between United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the PNG forces. The exercise is a USARPAC Theater Security Cooperation event with the PNG, conducted at the Brigade/Battalion level, which focuses on key U.S. and PNG training requirements.
