Warrant Officers ‘Run to Excellence’

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. –The United States Army Warrant Officer Association is hosting a “Road to Excellence” walk/run/bike event May 1 – June 4, 2022, in honor of their 50th Anniversary! The local WOA Aberdeen Edgewood Silver Chapter is looking for APG community members to join their team for this competitive event. This is a virtual event where both military and civilians have the opportunity to walk/run/bike as many miles as they can over five weeks.

This event is all about maintaining physical fitness and having fun!

Participant’s miles will go towards the chapter’s overall goal in the competition. The WOA Chapter with the highest cumulative miles will meet in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and receive the prize streamer October 2022.

For registration, head to the site listed below and choose the Aberdeen Edgewood Silver Chapter during the registration process. Registration runs from March 1 to April 30 and is $55 per person.

During the event, it’s important to remember to log your miles! On RunSignUp, participants can register and log miles during the five weeks of the event. Logging miles is crucial to the chapter and is based on the honor system. Starting May 1, after registering, participants can begin logging miles. Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to do this:

  1. Make sure you are logged in to RunSignUp.
  2. Click on the “FIND A PARTICIPANT” tab and find your name.
  3. Under your name, click on the “More Details” button.
  4. Then select the “Submit Virtual Results” button.
  5. For each day participating, you will “Add Another Activity”, and enter the total miles you covered on that day.
  6. Click the “Select Activity” button at the bottom. It will take a few minutes to record, but your overall miles should then be visible on the “Results” tab with the rest of the leaders.

Upon completion of the event, participants will receive a medal from the USAWOA APG Silver chapter for supporting and participating in its “Road to Excellence” virtual event.
