The Army is making significant progress towards implementing an alternate email solution for Soldiers.

Several alternate email options are being reviewed. Upon completing the assessment and determining the best course of action, Soldiers, regardless of rank or workforce status, will receive an official government email.

As part of the Army 365 bridging strategy, Defense Enterprise Email (DEE) has been extended to 30 September 2022 to maintain access to government email accounts.

Col. Joseph Gardner, Enterprise Services division chief, says it’s another example of how the Army is moving forward with modernization efforts.

“It is imperative that we work our way through the mission analysis to ensure the alternate email solution will deliver an enduring capability for our Soldiers,” Gardner said.

Throughout this process, Soldiers will continue to have an official government email account and access to the communication tools they need for their daily duties.
