CAMP HENRY, Republic of Korea – The Daegu Legal Tax Center is open now through Apr. 22 to provide assistance in preparing and filing 2021 Federal and State Income Tax returns for active-duty services members and their families if filing jointly.

The Tax Center is located in the Daegu Legal Center in Bldg. 1805, Camp Henry. Services will be provided on a walk-in basis. Hours of operation are 0930-1130 and 1300-1600 Monday thru Friday; except on Thursday the office opens at 1300.

According to CPT Adriana Garcia, the Tax Center’s Officer in Charge, the services provided will look different than in previous years. The Tax Center will consist of a limited number of self-help filing kiosks and trained personnel be will available to help Service Members and their families to access free tax filing software on Military OneSource. One-on-one tax preparation assistance will not be available, however, personnel meeting the specific income levels and extenuating circumstances may request special assistance via an exception to policy.

Tax filing assistance is available for individuals who are eligible for Military OneSource assistance. Retirees and other USFK-affiliated personnel not eligible to receive services, can visit the Tax Center for a referral list providing other options to file taxes. There are many great resources available online, including www.usa.gov/help-with-taxes or www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free.
