JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — I am SGT Brandon Taliaferro and I would like to start by introducing myself as the Equal Opportunity Leader for Futures and Concepts Center. For questions regarding Equal Opportunity please contact me at (757) 501-6369 or (757) 927-1460.

Why is Equal Opportunity important? Soldiers and their Family members are given full opportunity to develop professionally and personally, free from prejudice and discrimination under Equal Opportunity. Ensuring that we have a command climate that encourages every Soldier to freely identify and report injustices and discrimination of any form, without the threat of intimidation or reprisal. This creates an atmosphere for everyone to breathe freely and to thrive in an environment that offers a fair opportunity for all. That climate should eliminate discrimination against race, color, sex (to include gender identity and pregnancy), sexual preference/orientation, religion and national origin. Also to include protection against bullying or hazing.

With full support, Equal Opportunity can become a reality for all. It is encouraged for everyone to know and utilize the complaint procedures process and reporting violations. As the EOL I am unable to process informal or formal complaints, but I am allowed to assist and guide you all to the Equal Opportunity Advisors and other available channels such as the chaplain, Inspector General, and the community housing referral and relocation services to name a few.

Military Equal Opportunity (MEO) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) are two separate entities. Though I am here to assist both Civilians and Soldiers and their Family members, I will have to refer DA civilians and contractors to the EEO representative. Due to the structure of FCC, it is important to note that we will utilize TRADOC EO Advisors to assist with the handling of formal and informal complaints. Below you will find important contacts if you ever seek assistance.
