(FORT STEWART) –3rd Infantry Division celebrated Thanksgiving with a series of special meals across Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Benning, Ga. Nov. 22-24, 2021 for Soldiers and their Families.

As many Soldiers cannot travel to see their extended families, Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Benning dining facilities provided a safe environment for them to enjoy a quality meal together.

The special meals have become a tradition during the workweek to enable Soldiers to come together with their teammates and celebrate, while allowing those who do have families in the area to spend the holiday with their families. It also ensures Soldiers with missions who may be working on the holiday such as first responders, military police, or health care providers at Winn Army Community Hospital have the opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal.

The Spartan Dining Facility operated by culinary specialists assigned to 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd ID won the competition for the best Thanksgiving Meal for their decorations, displays and overall meal. The Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield Thanksgiving Meals served more than 1,200 Soldiers and their Families.
