"Howl-O-Ween" at Torii Beach Dog Park

Sunday, October 24, 2021 turned out to be more than just a normal day at the Torii Beach Dog Park for its regular furry visitors.

Dressed as police, clowns, dinosaurs, Star Wars and Disney characters, ducks, Wonder Woman and even a "cereal killer" to name a few, dogs from the local area came out to prove that Halloween or "Howl-O-Ween" isn't just for humans.

The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers and Family Morale, Welfare, Recreation from U.S. Army Garrison Okinawa sponsored its first "Howl-o-ween" Costume Contest for dogs of all sizes. Dogs received trick or treat bags just for showing up.

The first place winner was the "cereal killer" dog, who received a doggie treat basket. The second place went to the "clown dog".
