DETROIT ARSENAL, Mich. – Maj. Gen. Darren Werner, commanding general of the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments, pins a Meritorious Service Medal on the uniform of Maj. James Kitchen during a brief retirement ceremony held Sept. 14 at Detroit Arsenal.

Kitchen served with the Army Materiel Command Legal Center – Detroit Arsenal as the Command Judge Advocate.

“I want to take this opportunity to extend my sincerest congratulations on the conclusion of an illustrious career, and my appreciation for all of the contributions you've made to our Army,” Werner said. “There's no doubt that your accomplishments will continue to pay dividends long into the future.”

Kitchen served in the Navy and Marine Corps prior to joining the Army’s Judge Advocate General Corps in 2009. He retired with 20 years of service.
