Offices to have modified schedules for organization celebration, Columbus Day holiday

WHEELER ARMY AIRFIELD, Hawaii – U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii will hold its annual Garrison Organization Celebration Friday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Many offices and facilities across the garrison will be closed or operating with reduced staffing.

Additionally, Friday, Oct. 8 is a U.S. Army Pacific training holiday and a 25th Infantry Division day of no significant activity, or DONSA. Soldiers should check with their unit leadership to confirm whether they have a day off or not.

Monday, Oct. 11, is Columbus Day and a federal holiday. All garrison offices other than emergency services will be closed.

In observance of the federal holiday, the Auto Skills Center, Fort Shafter Pool and Splash Park, Tropic Lightning Museum, Wheeler Pool and Splash Park, and U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 12.
