One of Fort Gordon’s most popular annual events, the Marine Mud Challenge, took place Sept. 18, with 406 participants on board. The event is traditionally held in the spring, but the 2020 version was cancelled altogether due to COVID-19 concerns, and the 2021 version was postponed to late summer for the same reason. This year’s course had 31 obstacles spread over its 5.2 miles of up-and-down terrain.
