The engineers and project teams at both U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center and Lockheed Martin are putting the capabilities of a field-expedient, aerial vehicle-based 5G network to the test. Watch how this effort comes together and the value it may bring to our Warfighters.

The U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center and Lockheed Martin demonstrate a UAV-carried mobile 5G networking capability in conjunction with GVSC's Autonomous Leader-Follower project.

The Leader-Follower project brings a truck "platooning" capability to the force, where a column of unmanned trucks follow a lead vehicle, which itself may be manned or unmanned. The unmanned lead vehicle can be driven through teleoperation or robotic waypoint navigation and obstacle avoidance.
