Unique Patton Museum Patriot Day display features items from recent wars

FORT KNOX, Ky. – The community is invited to attend a special one-day-only event at the General George Patton Museum of Leadership on Sept. 11 showcasing military items from the wars fought in Afghanistan and surrounding regions over the past two decades.

Uniforms, equipment, and other objects and articles will be available to view inside the museum’s Abrams Auditorium between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The various items are on loan for the display from veterans who have fought in the wars throughout the Middle East.

In addition to the special display, patrons will be able to view other newly added exhibit items throughout the museum. This includes updates to the area around the Pentagon firetruck, which was partially destroyed during the attacks on 9/11.

The full museum will be open to the public its regular hours of 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., accessible from the recently reopened 31W gate. Facemasks are required within the museum regardless of vaccination status.
