Postal service recommends deadlines for holiday mail

A great way to connect with your family and friends during the holidays is mailing packages and letters through your local Military Post Office. To ensure holiday gifts arrive by Dec. 25, the U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing packages no later than the mailing dates provided below.

Recommended mailing dates for mail going to the U.S. from APO AE addresses:

  • Nov. 27, 2021 - Retail Ground Mail
  • Dec. 11, 2021 - 1st Class / Priority Mail
  • Dec. 18, 2021 - Priority Mail Express Mail

Recommended mailing dates for mail coming from the U.S. to APO AE addresses:

  • Nov. 6, 2021 - Retail Ground Mail
  • Dec. 11, 2021 - 1st Class / Priority Mail
  • Dec. 18, 2021 - Priority Mail Express Mail

To expedite and to make the most of your postal experience it's important to come prepared. The IMCOM-Europe Postal Operations Branch recommends completing online customs declarations prior to visiting the post office.

Other options to expedite your visit to the post office are through Click-N-Ship services. Click-N-Ship services are available through USPS or USPS Official Partners: Stamps.com and Pirateship.com. These options can provide discounts on shipping expenses on qualifying services.
