
FORT KNOX, Ky. — Mike Bond, author of AMERICA, will discuss his new novel in a Barr Memorial Library Authors at Your Library virtual event Aug. 5, beginning at 6 p.m.
Set within one of the most tumultuous and historic periods of the United States, AMERICA follows the stories of four young adults during the 1960s. Each one struggles to find their place during the decade of war, exploration and advancement. With each of them affected by the catastrophic events of the decade in different ways, AMERICA is a poignant historical fiction novel that highlights the tragic yet influential ‘60s era.
The first novel in a planned seven-book series, AMERICA is set to explore the last 70 years of American history in riveting fiction seeking to answer important questions about the country’s past and future.
Bond is the author of nine bestsellers. He is also an award-winning poet and journalist. In the past, he has covered wars, military dictatorships and worldwide environmental crises. Called “one of the 21st Century’s most exciting authors” by the Washington Times, Bond’s newest series is expected to make an important statement on the current climate.
The virtual event will feature a live Q&A with Bond as well as further details on the series.
