Colombian Senior NCO program, PISAJ, continues at the Western Hemisphere for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC).

FORT BENNING, GA – DAY 2 of the Colombian Military Sergeant Majors Comprehensive Program for Senior Officials (PISAJ in Spanish) continues here today.

The Programa Integral Para Oficiales de Alta Jerarquia (PISAJ) is a semi-annual military to military engagement with the Colombian Military, Joint Sergeants Major Academy. Each iteration of PISAJ focuses on a particular need of the Colombian Army and supports the NCO professional development efforts between our two Armies. The purpose of this high-profile Partner Nation Geo-strategic event is to increase the capabilities of Colombian Senior Noncommissioned Officers and reinforce the NCO Professional Development program between our military forces. The Colombian Army determined NCO development as one of the pillars of their transformation necessary to develop into a Strategic combined arms force capable of deploying alongside the U.S. Army worldwide.

This 15th iteration of PISAJ focuses on Human Resource Reform, Human Rights, NCO Development, Gender Integration and Operations.

During the morning, the group participated on a leadership panel with battalion/ brigade level U.S. Army Command Sergeant Majors. The topics of this event were Senior Enlisted Responsibilities; Decision Making; Toxic Leadership.

The afternoon consisted of an overview brief and orientation of the 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade. The Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB) are specialized units with the core mission to conduct training, advising, assisting, enabling and accompanying operations with allied and partner nations. Soldiers in SFABs are highly trained, and among the top tactical leaders in the Army. Their work will strengthen our allies and partners while supporting this Nation’s security objectives and the combatant commanders' warfighting needs.

The 1st SFAB focus area is the U.S. Southern Command Area of Operations, Central and South America.
