FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) welcomes Capt. Annah Gbee as its new commander in a Change of Command Ceremony at the Nolan Building, June 3.

Col. Paul Perrone, Jr., INSCOM acting deputy commanding officer, welcomed Gbee to the INSCOM family.

Gbee assumed command from Capt. Michael Polanski, who is leaving the U.S. Army to tackle new challenges and opportunities.

“Annah, you bring a wealth of experience to the unit, and there is no doubt in my mind you will build on the superb foundation Captain Polanski turns over to you,” complimented Perrone. “You are ready to take this outstanding company to the next level.”

Gbee took the opportunity to thank Maj. Gen. Gary Johnston, INSCOM commanding general, Perrone, family, friends and colleagues for being present at the ceremony.

“I am humbled by the Command’s confidence in my ability to be the next HHC commander,” said Gbee. “I’m inheriting a company that was led by an excellent Army captain. Captain Polanski is a role model for what right looks like in company leadership.”

Perrone also lauded Polanski for his accomplishments.

“During your time as the HHC commander, you led, cared for, and trained over 1,500 officers, Soldiers, and civilians,” added Perrone. “Under your leadership, your team implemented, organized, and coordinated quarterly training events to deliver mandated training to over 3,000 Soldiers and civilians assigned throughout the National Capital Region, increasing the overall readiness of multiple commands. All of this was done while simultaneously accounting for and overcoming the difficulties of three cohorts of personnel, only one of which was in the building at any given time.”

Perrone’s comments highlighted Polanski’s accomplishments and how they changed lives across the command.

“Your work will be remembered, and the lives you have touched will carry your memory within our formation,” declared Perrone.

Polanski was gracious and thoughtful in his closing remarks, thanking his wife, the INSCOM command team, his first sergeant, executive officer, and orderly room for their hard work and accomplishments during his time in command.

“Captain Gbee, congratulations on your command. I am happy and excited for you as you start this new role,“ said Polanski. “I hope that you achieve over this next year more than I could. I know that you will – you have a great team that refuses to quit.”
