
FORT KNOX, Ky. — The release of Mark Sullivan’s new novel, The Last Green Valley, will be the topic of discussion at Barr Memorial Library’s next event in the Authors at Your Library series June 23.
Author of the bestselling Beneath A Scarlet Sky, Sullivan’s latest novel is a highly anticipated historical fiction story showcasing the power of love, faith and family. Sullivan will the novel with Fort Knox audiences beginning at 6 p.m.
Set in 1940s Ukraine, the novel explores an East German family’s experiences under the reign of the horrific Stalin regime and the aftermath. Following the Martel family, the story provides an in-depth look into the effects the war has on the family and their postwar trauma. The difficult and often heartbreaking decisions the family has to make to stay alive are underscored, making their story of tenacity and hope that much more poignant.

A story of hope and extraordinary will, the novel is set to be one of the most moving historical fiction novels released this year.
Sullivan, a former investigative reporter, now primarily writes thriller novels. He has co-written with James Patterson and has received numerous accolades for his novels.
