FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — Fort Leonard Wood service members participated in Memorial Day events across Missouri over Memorial Day weekend.

At a ceremony Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery - Fort Leonard Wood — off Polla Road outside the west gate — guest speakers included U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler and Maj. Gen. James Bonner, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general; as well as MSCoE and Fort Leonard Wood Command Sgt. Maj. Randolph Delapena, who led the Pledge of Allegiance; a joint service color guard team; a rifle team; and members of the 399th Army Band.

In Rolla, Col. Daniel Hibner, U.S. Army Engineer School commandant, spoke at the Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce ceremony.

In Sunrise Beach, 795th Military Police Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Moore spoke at the American Legion Post 624 ceremony.

Chaplain (Capt.) Christopher Mohr, 58th Transportation Battalion chaplain, led a lantern-floating event Sunday evening at Bloodland Lake.

The 399th Army Band performed at ceremonies at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield and a senior-citizens event in Florissant.
