U.S. Army announces accountability actions following 416th Theater Engineer Command investigation

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON- U.S. Army Forces Command announced the results of an administrative investigation into the 416th Theater Engineer Command's Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program today.

The Army Regulation 15-6 investigation found that the former commander, Maj. Gen. Miyako N. Schanely, failed to properly implement the SHARP program. She received a General Officer Memorandum of Reprimand from Gen. Joseph M. Martin, the U.S. Army Vice Chief of Staff. Schanley was previously suspended from command over the issue and ultimately relinquished command.

Gen. Martin also took administrative action against two other senior leaders for their performance failures.

Lt. Gen. Jody J. Daniels, the commander of U.S. Army Reserve Command, took administrative action against 12 other officers, non-commissioned officers, and Department of the Army civilians based on adverse findings in this case. Three additional civilian actions are still pending.
