OSIECZNICY-Poland – Three 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division Troopers have rescued a Polish national from a car crash in Osiecznicy, Poland Mar 28.

The 91st Engineer Battalion Troopers, while driving in Osiecznicy, noticed the vehicle, just off the road with a large tree on top of it.

“There was glass everywhere and the tree somehow ended up on top of the car almost pinning the Polish national inside,” said Sgt. Robert Crawford III, utilities equipment repairer, 91st Engineer Battalion.

Crawford along with Staff Sgt. Keith Arnold Jr. and Sgt. Destiny Vasudev saw the accident and immediately sprang into action, rescuing those inside the vehicle.

“We ran to the car, looking inside for any gas leaks or any other potential hazards, making sure he was responsive and if he could move,” said Vasudev, utilities equipment repairer, 91st Eng. Batt. “After that me and my battle buddies had to pry open the door with our bare hands to remove him from the wreckage,” Vasudev added.

The Polish fire department arrived on scene and transported the injured Polish national to a nearby hospital.
