ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. --Team CECOM, 40 years is a milestone. Time flies when you’re providing worldwide and world-class electronics systems and equipment, installing and maintaining communications systems, and providing training, field support and logistical expertise.
CECOM, as we know it today, was established on May 1, 1981. Saturday, May 1, marks the 40th birthday of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command. Throughout its history, CECOM’s responsibilities have changed, but the mission of enabling readiness for our Nation’s sons and daughters remains unchanged.
You should all be extremely proud of your contributions and dedication to our 40-year-old extraordinary command. I know I am! Check out this CECOM 40th Birthday video.
New CECOM LinkedIn
I am pleased to announce that G-9 (Strategic Communications) kicked-off the implementation of a new social media platform, LinkedIn, for CECOM to better connect with employees, DOD agencies and industry in a professional, social environment. LinkedIn is a social networking website commonly used to connect current employees, past employees, prospective employees and external stakeholders interested in the organization.
In maximizing our social presence CECOM will be able to leave a greater virtual footprint, drive interested candidates to job opportunities, thus diversifying the candidate pool, and boost inter-agency and industry engagement. If you get a chance, check it out.
Thank you for your daily dedication and hard work for our command and overall mission. I’m extremely blessed to command an organization of this caliber.
Sincerely,
MG Kilgo
