Dugway emergency units thrill kids without b'day fete

Children unable to have a birthday party due to pandemic restrictions may still have a day to remember, thanks to the kindness of police, fire, security, emergency medical and dispatchers at Dugway Proving Ground.

With sirens blaring and lights flashing, a selection of emergency vehicles will come to a   youngster’s Dugway home to wish them a happy birthday. The child also receives a bag of swag and the opportunity to sit behind the wheel of the emergency vehicles.

Emergency personnel have been surprising birthday boys and girls since restrictions on gatherings began, noted Dispatch Supervisor Courtney Montoya. Parents schedule with the dispatch center
