FORT KNOX, Ky. – Spouses have begun taking advantage of a new Army initiative on post to provide work spaces outside the home.
“I think this is a good thing because it’s hard to meet people when you’re working from home and you’re not getting out of the house,” said Kristina Woestman, a spouse who is utilizing the space. “It’s been nice.”
The new work spaces on Fort Knox have been set up in the basement of Building 1378.
Woestman said she, along many of her fellow Spouses, appreciate having a dedicated area where they can focus.
“Whereas you have a lot of distractions at home, you have somewhere to come and there is no distractions,” said Woestman.
She went on to say it’s not just about having a quiet workspace but also being around other people.
“You can talk with somebody and just carry on an adult conversation,” said Woestman. “There’s value in that.”
Those wishing to reserve a work space should call Fort Knox Human Services at 502-624-4162.
