FORT KNOX, Ky. – U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn (Colorado’s 5th congressional district), who sits on the U.S. House of Representatives’ Natural Resources and Armed Services Committees, met with Fort Knox leaders Thursday to discuss the installation’s energy programs and to get an update on V Corps.

Following the update, Lamborn and the Commanding General of U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox Maj. Gen. John Evans Jr. received a brief from the Fort Knox Energy Team. Evans explained the strategic importance of the post’s energy programs.

“It’s a readiness and security issue for us as an installation,” said Evans, “And it allows us to reduce the demand and the draw that we’re putting on those major power lines out there so that can be redistributed to the rest of the community.”

Once the presentation concluded, the Congressman expressed his opinion on what the installation has been able to achieve.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Lamborn.
