In honor of the Month of the Military Child, the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps is launching a unique cartoon series titled, “Spirit & Friends.”
The release begins with a coloring book that can be downloaded, printed, and shared. Other resources will be used to support the amazing work being done in our Army chapel communities and by our unit ministry teams around the globe, by our creative and committed directors of religious education, chaplains, religious affairs specialists, and volunteers.
Chaplain (Maj. Gen.) Thomas Solhjem, the Army Chief of Chaplains, would like to share this resource with a personal word of thanks:
Dear Army Families,
The last couple of years have been filled with unique challenges, but I pray you have had some great opportunities to grow closer as Families. Our Army is full of extraordinary people and our children are some of the most resilient in the world. I am so proud of how you have taken the challenges of school, work, physical distancing, and a myriad of other changes and have met them head on.
Our “Religious Support Toons” team has created a unique coloring book for you. You can help “Spirit & Friends” come to life. I hope that these characters will brighten your days, and allow your spirits to soar as you imagine many adventures to come. Each of us has so much talent and skill, and I want to challenge you to bring your creative best every day!
Remember to reach out to your local Religious Support Offices and your Unit Ministry Teams, to explore all the opportunities they offer to help you to connect and grow in your faiths.
For God & Country,
Chaplain (Maj. Gen.) Tom and Jill Solhjem
