ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md – The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) launched its new Civilian recruitment website on Feb. 24. ATEC is comprised of over 3,700 Civilian employees throughout the U.S. and some overseas locations, who accomplish the mission to test and evaluate equipment before it is fielded. This website is just one piece of ATEC’s push to modernize its human resources practices to stay competitive with private and public sector organizations.

“As the Army modernizes, our approach to our workforce should modernize as well,” said Wes Williams, director of the Human Resources Directorate at ATEC Headquarters. “Just as ATEC is on the cutting edge of technology development for the warfighter, we want to be on the cutting edge of using technology to recruit, retain, and develop our workforce.”

This civilian website was designed to fit everyone’s needs, from a hiring manager looking to recruit new talent to a valued team member or a prospective candidate wanting to learn more about what ATEC has to offer.

Key features of the website include:

·        Simple, easy-to-understand language

·        Sections describing benefits, career fields, employee investment and volunteerism

·        Links to interactive job board

·        Photos and imagery pulled from ATEC’s extensive photo library

According to ATEC’s Executive Technical Director and Deputy to the Commander, James Amato, this application is one of the most innovative recruiting tools he has ever seen.

“It takes all of the mystery out of how to apply for a job with ATEC. It describes who we are, what we do, why we do it, and the skillsets we are looking for -- all in plain English. This will enable us to continue to get the very best people in ATEC, and do so much faster."
