Garrison Commander Col. C.J. King and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. William Fogle joined AAFES employees and patrons in cutting the ribbon to commemorate the occasion.
Fort Knox Garrison Commander Col. C.J. King praised the hard work of the employees as well as the Exchange’s ability to keep the store open during renovations and continue the project throughout the pandemic and the holiday season. “These people were on the front lines before we even knew there was a front line,” said King. “They came to work every day, they kept the community running.”

“This is a complex undertaking under any circumstances,” said Col. King. “If you look at what they’ve accomplished during a very difficult period, during COVID, they did this almost completely invisible to the public for the most part and they were able to stay open during the entire period.”
