First announced in the fall of 2019, the deployment is part of a regular force rotation in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, where the battalion will provide operational-level sustainment support in Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan.

Over the next four months, the 526th Composite Supply Company and 24th Composite Truck Company under the 541st CSSB will deploy and replace their counterparts within the Army National Guard’s 232nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion out of Springfield, IL and the Regular Army’s 142nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion out of Ft. Bliss, TX, respectively.

"The Pacesetter Battalion is honored and stands ready to answer our nation's call to deploy by employing highly-trained and highly-skilled Soldiers and logisticians," said LTC Charles Arnold, commander of the 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. "Our team has conducted tough, realistic training, culminating with NTC 20-10 and is equipped and led at every echelon to conduct its assigned mission. With the help of our US Army Reserve partners and the international coalition, we will work to defeat ISIS and set the conditions for long-term regional stability."

The battalion is expected to return in the fall of 2021.
