FORT KNOX, Ky. — A handful of Girl Scouts from Fort Knox's Junior Troop 685 were given a unique hands-on training opportunity Nov. 12 as they learned to put out a fire.

Firefighters from the Fort Knox Fire Department visited the scouts at the Hansen Center to train them on how to use a fire extinguisher. They scouts were given a unique opportunity to pull a fire alarm, put out a fire with an extinguisher and call 9-1-1, all compliments of the fire department’s high tech laser simulation system.
