<B> FORT STEWART, Ga. </B> Snipers from Scout Platoon, HHC, 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, headed to the range, June 30 to test their skills in preparation for upcoming training and deployment.
The Soldiers were qualifying in two- man teams, one shooter and one spotter, to better themselves as marksmen.
"You are an infantryman, bottom line," Spc. Christopher Dunscomb, one of the snipers for HHC, 3/69 AR said. "But you are a higher marksman."
The qualifications were the culminating event of weeks of training for the Soldiers. They are led by 2nd Lt. Theodore Fyock.
"This range is an exercise to assess where our snipers are at in regards to their training. I feel they are the best in the division," said 2nd Lt. Fyock. "They are doing a great job."
The range was a success, all the teams qualified. The snipers are trained and ready, their skills are honed and they are looking for a fight, whenever and wherever the necessity arises in combat.
