ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. -- Brig. Gen. Darren Werner, commanding general of the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, toured Anniston Army Depot Oct. 1.He began the day with a visit to the heart of ANAD’s industrial complex, the Combat Vehicle Repair Facility. There, he met with employees and, during a short award presentation, presented coins to five individuals.“I’m extremely proud of what has been done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Our arsenals and depots have responded with continued support to the Army, ensuring the industrial base is contributing back to their nation,” said Werner. “And, here at Anniston, you have done really well, but I know it would not have been possible without the dedicated workforce. They are to be commended.”Werner also toured ANAD’s Small Arms Repair Facility and spoke to employees in two listening sessions.“It is important for people to recognize that we (leadership) care about our workforce,” he said. “It takes an effort on everyone’s part to want to create an environment where employees know their thoughts matter and we must demonstrate through our actions that we’re listening.”
