The Army will Stream the xTechSearch 4 Finals Live in October 2020

WASHINGTON, DC (October 7, 2020) –The U.S. Army will be streaming the xTechSearch 4 Finals: Proof-of-Concept Demonstrations live on the xTech Website, www.xtechsearch.army.mil, from October 13-14, 2020. The finalists are competing for a grand prize of $250,000 that will be announced at the Association of the United States Army AUSA Now, 2020 Annual Meeting & Exposition on October 15, 2020.

xTechSearch is a competition for small businesses, startups and innovators – sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics), also known as ASA(ALT) – that was designed to revolutionize the way the Army attracts and encourages innovation. The finalists will also be featured at the xTech Program booth during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2020 Annual Meeting & Exposition from October 13-16, 2020.

“The pace of discovery is accelerating world-wide. How can we rise to the occasion to provide a forum for small business innovators to transition transformative technologies to the Solder?” said Dr. Matt Willis, Director for the xTech Program.

“In the multi-domain operational environment we are in as a military, that we have to rely on the innovations from everyone in the U.S., not just the defense primes, not just the Army Laboratories but all of our small businesses, startups. All the innovators out there, we want to hear what you are doing and we want you to be able to come to the Army and talk about the technologies that you are developing.”

The xTechSearch 4 finalists have been competing since October 2019 and have progressed through three phases and an accelerator program leading up to the fourth and final phase of the competition. During the finals, they will demonstrate their technology proof-of-concept to a panel of Army experts.

The finalists have technologies ranging in areas from medical technologies to command, control and communications. The finalists in alphabetical order are: Bounce Imaging; GeneCapture, Inc.; Inductive Ventures; IoT/AI, Inc.; KeriCure, Inc.; Lynq Technologies, Inc.; MEI Micro, Inc.; Multiscale Systems, Inc.; Novaa, Ltd; Vita Inclinata Technologies.

“We are looking for novel disruptive concepts, a lot of people talk about innovations as the core of what we are looking at. We want to understand the full spectrum of technologies. We are really looking for is something that is transformational,” said HON Bruce Jette, ASA(ALT).
