Team CECOM,

I'm excited to announce that Army Medical Logistics Command will officially join CECOM as a subordinate command on 15 September. While the transition was originally scheduled for 1 July, the date was pushed back due to the demands of the COVID-19 situation and AMLC's important role in the Army response. We will have more information to share in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, please join me in welcoming our new teammates.

Today is Women's Equality Day, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed women the right to vote. While the change was a milestone toward gender equality, the day highlights the complicated journey women had to gain equal rights. In the Army today, women are at the forefront, serving in military occupational specialties they haven't seen in Army history. At CECOM, we were proud to recently welcome our first female senior enlisted adviser, CSM Kristie Brady. I encourage you to read her introductory message to the command, in which she shared her thoughts on women's equality in the Army: https://www.army.mil/article/237590/cecom_command_sergeant_majors_corner

There are no additional updates this week. Thank you as always for doing your part and staying committed to ending the pandemic. Our Soldiers have always counted on CECOM when it matters most, and this is unquestionably one of those times. Let's continue making a difference for them.

Sincerely,

MG Kilgo
