FORT BRAGG, N.C. –The court martial for Col. Kevin M. Russell convened today at 2:45 p.m.
The defendant was charged with 5 specifications of sexual assault and abusive sexual contact, violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 120.
The panel, comprised of officers senior in rank to the accused, was seated to hear the court martial. The prosecution began calling the first of its witnesses.
The proceedings went into recess at 5:10 p.m. and will convene again tomorrow at 9 a.m.
