JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va.--The JBLE-Eustis Department of Public Health (DPH) implements a new protocol for evaluating food establishments.
The protocol introduces the grading system from the Tri-Service Food Code, which provides all the regulations and provisions that allow the DPH to determine food safety during sanitation inspections.
The grading system has several purposes, including promoting greater compliance with food safety regulations, improving communication about restaurant food safety, and informing the public about inspection results.
The system not only serves the establishments but, most importantly, the general public. Promoting compliance is in the best interest of the food establishment.
Having the highest grade possible ensures and instills trust within the Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) community. The grading system serves as a great communication tool for the public to know where an establishment stands following the most recent inspection.
The results encourage awareness of health issues and sanitation within these food establishments. The protocol will provide the community with a sense of well being and promote food safety within these establishments.
