
Below are May 21 Department of the Army general officer announcements with Fort Knox ties:
*Maj. Gen. John S. Kolasheski was confirmed by the Senate for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as commanding general of V Corps at Fort Knox. He is currently serving as commanding general of 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, Kansas.
*Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. James McConville announced that Brig. Gen. Antonio V. Munera, deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, will become commanding general of the 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
*Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. James McConville announced that Maj. Gen. Sean A. Gainey, deputy director of Force Protection, J-8, Joint Staff in Washington, D.C., will become the director of the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Office/Director of Fires, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, in Washington, D.C. Gainey served as the deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox from June 2015 to July 2016.
