NATICK, MA. -- The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick and the U.S. Army Garrison-Natick hosted the Natick food court grand opening ceremony, Monday morning.
Natick Soldier Systems Center Senior Commander, Brig. Gen. Vincent Malone, spoke about improving the way of life for those who are assigned here and those who have voluntarily chosen to work at Natick to improve Soldiers experience.
"The quality of life for our Soldiers, civilians, contractors and family members has been one of my priorities since I became the Senior Commander here at Natick," said Malone.
The approximate $1 million dollar renovation included new heating, ventilation and air conditioning, new kitchen equipment and dining area seating.
"The food court is, in essence, a new facility," said Joe Kurzontkowski, Director Morale, Welfare and Recreation.
"These improvements have been a long time coming. The concept came two Senior Commanders and two Garrison Commanders ago, but we got it done," Malone continued to say.
The first meal was served with several accolades from the Soldiers and civilians who attended the grand opening.
"The food court is beautiful and refreshing," said Lynn Valcourt, Director of Strategic Planning, "It's so much better than before. I can see myself just coming down and sitting because it is comfortable and I like the ambiance. So far, the food is pretty good too."
