Fort Greely hosts Soldier and Marines in support of AE20

Soldiers and Marines train at Fort Greely, Alaska during Exercise Arctic Edge 2020 Feb. 26. Arctic Edge is a biennial homeland defense exercise designed to provide high quality and effective training in the extreme cold-weather conditions found in the arctic.

AE20 is a NORAD & USNORTHCOM exercise and Alaskan Command serves as host headquarters for the bi-national joint-training exercise that runs Feb. 24-March 6, 2020 across Alaska.

As a Homeland Defense exercise, AE20 is designed to provide high quality and effective training in the extreme cold-weather conditions found in Arctic environments. The exercise is conducted under the authority of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command. AE20 is the largest joint exercise scheduled in Alaska this year.

Approximately 1,000 U.S. military personnel will participate in the multi-service exercise along with members of the Canadian Military Services.
