America's First Corps to welcome new commanding general Feb. 4

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- Members of the press are invited to the America's First Corps change of command ceremony at 10 a.m. Feb. 4 inside the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade's helicopter hangar at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Lieutenant General Gary J. Volesky, who has commanded America's First Corps since April 2017, will pass command to Maj. Gen. (promotable) Randy A. George, who will be promoted to lieutenant general in a private ceremony before assuming command.

George last commanded the 4th Infantry Division and Fort Carson, Colorado. He will be available for questions at a press conference immediately following the ceremony.
