REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- This year's U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command's "101 for Missiles" will be March 5-6 and AMCOM wants brigade and battalion command teams to save the date. This year's invitation list has been expanded to reach more of the enterprise. Invitations were extended to the Multiple Launch Rocket System and High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System unit commanders/leadership to include the entire AMCOM 'missile' portfolio. The AMCOM 101 for Missiles is a leadership and professional development forum hosted annually by AMCOM to increase Army leaders' awareness of the tools and resources available to improve readiness in Army Missile units, said Chief Warrant Officer 4 Araceli Rial, AMCOM's Missile Maintenance Officer. The AMCOM 101 for Missiles brings together the leaders of field artillery and air defense artillery brigade and battalion command teams with AMCOM subject matter experts for an interactive series of briefings and presentations. Attendees learn about AMCOM's systems and processes used to support missile readiness and sustainment across the Army. This is an opportunity for the missile sustainment and maintenance enterprise to collaborate with units from across the Army on best practices, services and products, Rial said."Missiles 101 is an excellent forum for brigade and battalion commanders, command sergeants major, senior warrant officers and noncommissioned officers that enables collaboration among commanders, senior enlisted and warrant officers, and lays the ground work for command teams to optimize their readiness," said Rial. "Although AMCOM hosts the event, we include Program Executive Office Missiles and Space, AMD & LRPF Cross-Functional Teams, and other enterprise organizations that support the Missile community."AMCOM has hosted the Missile101 forums since 2014. The forums have grown in attendance each year and last year, more than 90 active duty, Reserve, and National Guard senior leaders attended. Following each event, AMCOM leadership solicits feedback to refine and adjust topics of interest for the following year's forums. The forums are open to active duty, National Guard and Reserve units and Department of the Army civilians. Registration is open now via the AMCOM G3/5 SharePoint site at: https://amcom.aep.army.mil/sites/readiness/AMCOM101PAT/default.aspxUnderstanding how AMCOM is providing life-cycle management for the Army's entire Aviation and Missile enterprises is critical to ensuring integrated sustainment, logistics and contracting support, according to Rial."These collaborative forums provide direct feedback between the units in the field and the logisticians and planners charged with improving readiness," said Rial. "This annual opportunity proves more valuable year after year."AMCOM is a globally engaged command responsible for developing and delivering responsive aviation, missile and calibration materiel readiness to optimize joint warfighter capabilities at point of need. For more information about the Missiles 101 forum, please contact Chief Warrant Officer 4 Araceli Rial via email at araceli.r.rial.mil@mail.mil or call at 256-876-9846 (DSN 312-746-9846).
