SEMBACH, Germany -- IMCOM-Europe has selected its 2019 Fire and Emergency Services awardees, who will now compete for command-level honors.

Tommy Mize, director of IMCOM-Europe, said each individual and department demonstrated resourcefulness and overcame challenges while providing a "positive impact on the communities they serve."

"The best candidates have been selected to represent us in each category," he added.

They are:

*Fire Department of the Year: U.S. Army Garrison Italy.

*Fire Department of the Year Medium Category: USAG Bavaria.

*Fire Department of the Year Large Category: USAG Rheinland-Pfalz.

*Fire Prevention Program of the Year: USAG Italy.

*Civilian Fire Fighter of the Year: Christian Schipper, USAG Wiesbaden.

*Civilian Fire Officer of the Year: Michael Hill, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz.

*Fire Service Instructor of the Year: Matteo Manfron, USAG Italy.

*Fire Service Dispatcher of the Year: Alisha Braun, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz.

*Fire Service Inspector of the Year: Mario Hoinigg, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz.

*EMS provider of the Year: Thomas Heinrich, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz.
