Star Wars fans of all ages: Prepare yourself!

In celebration of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,' Barr Memorial Library officials have announced a new Star Wars-themed reading challenge -- "Journey to Jedi." The challenge runs Nov. 25 -- Dec. 20.

Reading logs will be available at the library starting Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. Logs must be completed and returned before 5 p.m. Dec. 20 to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. Winners will be notified Dec. 21.

Participants do not have to present to win. To complete a log, either read five Star Wars books or read three Star Wars books and attend two library programs. There are two age categories: 0-11 years and 12-99.

The library is offering five special Star Wars programs as part of the challenge. Officials said they are not only theming two of their regular programs around Star Wars, they are also screening 'The Force Awakens' and 'The Last Jedi.'

All of it culminates Dec. 21 with the Barr Library Holiday Special. Crafts, snacks and other Star Wars fun will start at 10 a.m.

Those interested must be active duty military, a spouse, family member, retired military, DOD civilian, National Guardsman or reservist and eligible for a regular library account to participate. Participation is limited to one brochure per person.
