FORT RILEY, Kan. - Military dads were invited to eat with their children during the Dad and Me Breakfast June 11 at School Age Services. The event was part of June's Dads Make a Difference Month.

Dads and their children were served pancakes and fruit while Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Ian Mann spoke about how dads can make a difference in their children's lives.

A Soldier's life can be very busy, Mann said. He suggested the children grab their dad's hand and ask them to hang out.

Sgt. Patrick Ahner said he normally doesn't have time to eat breakfast with his son, but he saw a flyer at his son's daycare and took advantage of the event.

"We don't get time to eat breakfast during the week. He gets really excited about breakfast," Ahner said.
