FORT POLK, La. -- Maj. Gen. Brian J. Mennes, commander, 10th Mountain Division, promoted Staff Sgt. Bryn Reeves, Staff Sgt. Joshua Kanzelmeyer and Sgt. Kyle Arbogast from Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 10th Mountain Division, Nov. 1, 2019, at Command Post Seneca, which is currently located at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk.

"It's a great honor, especially as I make the leap to becoming a non-commissioned officer, to have Maj. Gen. Mennes, someone who is a great leader, pin a new leader," said Arbogast, a battle NCO radiotelephone operator.

Kanzelmeyer, a tactical airspace integration system shift leader, had a similar perspective.

"It's a great honor and opportunity to be able to interact with the commanding general, and to see how he handles the situation while we're down here," said Kanzelmeyer.

Kanzelmeyer, Arbogast, and rest of the 10th Mountain Division staff at Command Post Seneca are supporting the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division during JRTC Rotation 20-01 at Fort Polk. The Soldiers at CP Seneca represent every division asset.

"Command Post Seneca helps the division have a distributed command," said Sgt. Maj. Michael Burns, operations sergeant major, 10th Mountain Division. "It allows the division staff to focus on key areas within a fight and push forward providing command and control."

An ability currently being used to assess how the division staff fits into a JRTC rotation, said Burns.
