Staff Sgt. Raymundo Ogoy attaches battle streamers to the crown of the Army flag to commemorate significant campaigns from the Army's history. John Sloyne-Smith, 98, a World War II armor-gunner, is greeted by Maj. Gen. Dennis L. Via during the Army birthday celebration at Fort Monmouth, N.J. on June 12. Via is commanding general of the CECOM Life Cycle Management Command  (CECOM LCMC). Sloyne-Smith participated in the cake cutting that was part of the celebration of the Army's 234th birthday.
