WASHINGTON -- Each year the Army's Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9, collaborates with the Association of the United States Army's Family Readiness Directorate to feature topics relevant to Soldiers and their Families during its annual meeting and exposition in Washington, D.C. This year's Family Forums offer unique opportunities to hear from the Army's Senior Leaders about the foundation of our Army -- People, and the Chief of Staff of the Army's quality of life priorities: housing, health care, child care, spouse employment, and Permanent Change of Station moves.

The 2019 Annual Meeting begins Monday, Oct. 14 with AUSA's Family Readiness Breakfast, featuring the Chief of Staff of the Army's spouse, Mrs. Maria McConville as the keynote speaker. Tune in Monday afternoon for Family Forum I, titled "Today's Army Spouse: Addressing Life's Challenges," where the results of RAND's Today's Army Spouse Survey will be discussed by Dr. Tom Trail. Panelists will also highlight positive changes to the Army's Soldier and Family Readiness Groups, the importance of Army spouses connecting with their community, and fostering healthy and resilient Army Families.

There are three Family Forums on Tuesday, Oct. 15, featuring updates on the Army's efforts to improve spouse employment, housing, and PCS moves. The final Family Forum will be a town hall-style discussion hosted by the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9, Lieutenant General Jason T. Evans, featuring the Secretary of the Army, the Honorable Ryan D. McCarthy, the Chief of Staff of the Army, General James C. McConville, and Sergeant Major of the Army Michael A. Grinston as panelists who will take questions from the audience and online. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to participate in a candid discussion with the Army's senior leaders.
