Ammunition Experts Awarded For Service

MCALESTER, Okla. - The Ammunition Management Career Program Office, located within the Defense Ammunition Center, maintains an Army-wide pool of Ammunition Managers with training and expertise in conventional, chemical and missile ammunition.

The Ammunition Management Career Program is a Department of Army civilian career program established in 1983 to enhance Army's ability to accomplish its ammunition logistics mission.

Currently there are 600 Ammunition Managers worldwide who provide support to various customers within the Department of Defense.

Each year the career program honors one outstanding ammunition expert among the three grade categories. The 2008 Award for Excellence in Ammunition Management recipients include: Ms. Lucinda Lenger, JMC, Logistics Integration Directorate, Rock Island, IL, recipient for the GS-14/15 category. Mr. Roy Hale, 7th U.S. Army, Joint Multi-national Training Command, G3, Grafenwoehr, Germany recipient for the GS-12/13 category. Mr. Timothy Thompson, Blue Grass Army Depot, Richmond, KY, has been selected in the GS-09/11 category.
