FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- On Mon., Oct. 7, a motions hearing is scheduled for U.S. v. Golsteyn regarding evidentiary matters.
During the motions hearing, the defense and the prosecution are provided the opportunity to present factual evidence and legal arguments.
As in the civilian legal system, Maj. Mathew Golsteyn is presumed innocent pending the outcome of a trial. The U.S. Army Special Operations Command will continue to adhere to U.S. Army rules and regulations, and all applicable law.
Maj. Golsteyn's trial by General Court-Martial is currently scheduled to begin Mon., Dec. 2.
