U.S. Army Human Resources Command will host Fort Knox's National Hispanic Heritage Month observance at Sadowski Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 10.

Edgardo Mansilla, native of Argentina, will be the keynote speaker. He is the executive director for Americana Community Center in Louisville and a part-time professor at the University of Louisville.

Mansilla was recognized by the "Louisville Insider" in 2015 as one of the 100 most influential persons in Louisville and was named one of the top 25 Hispanic leaders in Louisville in 2005 by publication "Hoy en las Americas" in 2005.

Flamenco Louisville will perform authentic Flamenco music and dance in traditional Spanish style at the event.

The event is open to the public. Where mission permits, Fort Knox supervisors are encouraged to allow their service members and DoD civilian employees to attend. When permission is granted, Sadowski Center will be considered the service member's and employee's place of duty. No leave will be charged for that time.
