Watervliet Arsenal, political leaders unify on the Army's Birthday

The Watervliet Arsenal helped to promote the Army's Birthday by providing the military address at a military appreciation picnic sponsored by the Village of Menands on 14 June 2009.  "Taps" was performed by U.S. Army Lt. Adam Kemp.

The Watervliet Arsenal, U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, and Albany County Executive Mike Breslin were the key speakers at a community picnic in the Village of Menands on 14 June to honor the military and to promote the Army's Birthday.  Breslin, left, and Tonko, center, took time prior to the start of the program to talk with veterans.

Megan Grenier, whose husband is a Department of the Army Civilian at the Watervliet Arsenal, stands to the right directing a community-wide picnic to honor the community's military on 14 June, the Army's Birthday.

Grenier coordinated for the Arsenal to provide the military address that promoted the Army's Birthday, as well as attained Albany County Executive Michael Breslin, center with microphone, and U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, left of Grenier, to thank the servicemen and women for answering their call to duty.  Grenier is also a Trustee for the Village of Menands.
